Here at the Admiral’s Inn, we can’t get enough of autumn in Southern Maine—and we want to make sure you get to soak up its crisp and colorful charms, too!
Come stay with us here in Ogunquit, and you’ll be all set for family-friendly fall fun in this one-of-a-kind swath of coastal New England. Here are a few readymade options within a short drive of our stoop here on Main Street!
McDougal Orchards (Springvale)
You’ve only got a few more days to swing by McDougal Orchards, which closes for the season at 5 PM on October 31. Alongside ripe apples and raspberries, you’ve got Captain Jack’s Donut Shack to patronize, plus wagonrides and a corn maze. (McDougal Orchards has been managed by the same family since 1779, if you can believe that.)
Spiller Farm (Wells)
More U-pick fun awaits at Spiller Farm, offering delicious apples, pumpkins, and various veggies for your roll-up-your-sleeves pleasure. On Saturdays and Sundays, the farm—which has been in business since the mid-1890s—also runs hayrides: classic, timeless, all-ages rural fun.
Zach’s Corn Maze (York)
The Great Corn Maze at Zach’s earns its name honestly: We’re talking 17 acres of rustling, high-stalked labrynth, reached via a 20-minute hayride. Besides wandering it during daylight hours, you can also play flashlight tag in its corridors till 10 PM. There’s also a U-pick pumpkin patch on hand.
Pumpkin Valley Farm (Dayton)
Unsurprisingly, you’ll also find a pumpkin patch at this sprawling Dayton property, but the big orange gourds aren’t the only attraction. You can get to know barnyard critters, roam the 6-acre corn maze, practice your aim with some irresistible Corn Launchers, or get some airtime on the Jumping Pillow.
Enjoying the Autumn Scenery Along the Way
And though we may have passed peak fall color, there’s still plenty of lovely autumn-tinted foliage out there, so daytripping to these farms and orchards from Ogunquit is still bound to serve up some pleasant seasonal scenery appealing to the whole crew, young and old.
So come join us here at the Admiral’s Inn for the mid-autumn pleasures of the Beautiful Place by the Sea and its greater Southern Maine neighborhood. All in all, it’s one of the loveliest times of year to pay a visit to Ogunquit! Winter’s on course to bring its own quiet and frosty splendor to our Gulf of Maine shore, but we’re not there yet—don’t miss this special season.
