We’re so looking forward to springtime in Ogunquit—it’s one of our favorite seasons here. Shorter lines at popular restaurants, quaint walks on the beach and Marginal Way, and always a parking spot when you need one! There’s so much to do in Ogunquit during any season, but here are some of our favorite spring activities and upcoming happenings to get excited for.
BYOD
It’s Bring Your Own Dog here at The Admiral’s Inn—with several dedicated dog-friendly rooms in the Flagship building, there’s no need to leave Fido behind. We also think springtime is the best time to bring your fur-ball along. Beaches stay fully open to dogs through March and there’s nothing your pal would enjoy more than chasing their favorite toy down a pristine sandy beach.
Head to Ogunquit Beach
And that brings us to our next point—a visit to Ogunquit Beach. This sandy stretch of beach is 3.5 miles long and is nestled nicely between the ocean and Ogunquit River. Some say it’s the loveliest beach in New England, and we’d have to agree!
Walk the Marginal Way
Marginal Way is the famous paved footpath that runs along the seaside in Ogunquit. It’s perfect for all ages, clocking in at just a bit farther than a mile. You can do the whole thing or walk slowly and linger with your sweetheart or family. Sit, stroll, enjoy the scenery. No matter how you do it, Marginal Way is one of the best ways to take in the Maine sea. Dogs are also permitted on the Marginal Way walk through the end of March.
Anyone for a Hike?
If you’re an adventure-loving family or individual, a hike is a must when you visit us at The Admiral’s Inn. Our local area is aplenty with scenic views, blooming wildflowers, and perfect bird-watching. Head to the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve Woods, or go along the foothills of Mount Agamenticus. Especially in spring, every day is different —every day something new to see and enjoy.
Enjoy a Cozy Night In
Sometimes the best part of a getaway is spending time with your loved one in the hotel—and we have several cozy room options to enhance your evening. Choose from rooms with jetted tubs, fireplaces or a wet bar to make the night extra special. And don’t forget to check out our special packages—like sparkling wine, chocolates, or roses—to make it even sweeter.
Listen to Live Music on the Weekends
Our friends at Crew—a casual spot for brunch, lunch, and dinner—host live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Order their famous Crew burger and an ice cold beer and enjoy the entertainment.
Splash Into Spring
Come to Ogunquit to check out this two-weeklong celebration of spring towards the end of April. Two weeks filled with fun arts, crafts, and food-related events are sure to provide you with a good time! The artisan craft fair, beach sand art and clever scavenger hunts around town have always been our favorites.
See a Show at the Playhouse
The Ogunquit Playhouse will open its doors again in May and it’s the perfect place for a dinner and a show date night during your stay. If you’re joining us before May, The Ogunquit Playhouse at the Music Hall, located just a short 25 minute drive away in Portsmouth, NH, is open year round and features Ogunquit Playhouse shows while they are closed. We always look forward to the annual Million Dollar Quartet, which tells the story of December 4, 1956—the night that Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, got together for one of the most famous jam sessions in history. This fabulous show is hosted there the first week of April.
